IDC recently visited Mr. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat, Pakistan's General Consul to New York, to deliver a humble donation. We, the Turkish American Muslim Community of New Jersey, were shocked to hear of the devastating earthquake, which caused such destruction, loss of life in India and especially in Pakistan, and resulted in 3 million homeless.
As we had a similar earthquake in 1999, we felt the pain our brothers/sisters felt there. IDC made donations to the Consulate and some to Zaman Newspaper. We hope that victims, their relatives and government of Pakistan feel that they are not alone, people feel their grief.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has wounded by this terrible quake. We ask God Almighty to give them solace and hope in the difficult days ahead. We wish an earliest recovery, materially and spiritually.
