Upcoming Abraham's Table will take place on January 26 at Caldwell United Methodist Church. Speakers will discuss the concept of 'Compassion' in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
The IDC was invited to the Caldwell United Methodist Church to talk about their view on Compassion, it was a beautiful day, with a great discussion.
On Tueday, Jan 26th, 2010 at the Abrahams table luncheon at the Caldwell United Methodist Church the speards talked about Compassion, and had lunch together provided by I.D.C (Interfaith Dialog Center, each of them went up to speak about what compassion meant to them, and shared their views with the people, also Host Pastor Rev. Jeff Markay showed a brief video on "Charter of Compassion" before the speakers went up to speak, which was a very meaningful video.
The Charter for Compassion calls upon all men and women to resore compassion to the center of marality and religion, to return to the ancient principle that any interpretation of scripture that breeds violence, hatred or disdain is illegitimate, also to ensure that your aregiven accurate and respectful information about each tradtions, religions and cultures, and finally to encourage a postive apprectiation of cultural and religous diversity.
It was a beautiful day to get together with our "beloveds".
