IDC and the Turkish Cultural Center HUTACA organizedan Ashura Celebration on Sunday February 8, 2009 at 2.00 pm. Speakers made presentations on the significance of the events happened on Ashura Day such as landing of Noah’s Ark and Moses and his people’s crossing the Red Sea. They especially focused on Noah (pbuh) and his story.

The program also included an Ashura contest and raffle.

Ashura day is celebrated across Turkey and the Middle East to promote neighborliness.
