IDC Awards Ceremony 2009
Annual IDC Award Ceremony will be held on May 31, 2009 at the Hilton Hotel in Parsippany, NJ. IDC helps to make New Jersey a stronger and more prosperous place by advancing the causes of peace, cross-cultural tolerance, and human dignity. We publicly recognize the outstanding achievements of those recipients who have distinguished themselves in their profession, community and service to humanity and New Jersey community.

       Most Important Teachings from Each Abrahamic Faith
Next Abraham’s Table Luncheon will take place at Congregation Beth Hatikvah on Wednesday May 13 at 12:00 noon. Speakers will discuss the most important teachings from Abrahamic faiths.

       Healing Sacred Earth
Next Abraham’s Table Luncheon will take place at Mackay Campus Center Princeton Theological Seminary on Thursday May 7 at 1:00 pm. Speakers will discuss “Healing Sacred Earth”.

       Friendship Gathering - Washington UMC
IDC members and members of several United Methodist Churches came together on a friendship gathering on Tuesday evening on May 5, 2009.

       Cultural Awareness
Third Fresh Start Women Discussion Series was held at Rutherford Congregational Church on Sunday April 26 between 2:00-4:00 pm.

       God and Neighbor for All Faiths
Last Abraham’s Table Luncheon was held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Sparta, on Wednesday April 22 at 12:00 noon. Speakers delivered speeches on “God and Neighbor for All Faiths” from religious perspectives.

       Raising Children with Values in Today’s Culture
Second Fresh Start Women Discussion Series took place at Christ Church, Summit on Sunday March 29 between 5:30-7:30 pm. Speakers discussed how to raise children instilled with core values in today’s culture.

       Forgiveness
Most recent Abraham’s Table Luncheon took place at Hamilton Square Baptist Church, Hamilton Square, on Thursday March 26. Speakers discussed forgiveness from religious perspectives.

       EBRU (Water Marbling) Class
Turkish Cultural Center New Jersey is starting Water Marbling (Ebru) Class on Saturday March 7, 2009. Classes will be held at the center in Ridgefield every Saturday between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.

       Friendship Gathering - Millburn Presbyterian Church
IDC members and Millburn Presbyterian Church members came together on a friendship gathering on Sunday March 15, 2009.

       Moses and Redemption
Another Abraham's Table Luncheon took place at Temple B’nai Or, Morristown, NJ on Thursday March 12 at 12:00 noon. Speakers discussed “Moses and Redemption” Jewish, Christian and Islamic perspectives.

       Attitudes on Aging from Faith Perspectives
Seventh Abraham's Table Luncheon took place at The Evergreens Continuing Care Retirement Community, Moorestown, NJ on Thursday March 5 at 12:00 noon. Speakers discussed this time “Attitudes on Aging from Faith Perspectives”.

       Friendship Gathering - Round Valley UMC
IDC members and Round Valley United Methodist Church members came together on a friendship gathering. Friendship Gatherings is IDC’s new project to bring grass root people together.

       Faith and Mental Well-Being
The first Fresh Start Women Discussions Series was held on Sunday Feb. 22 from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at Turkish Cultural Center located at 670 Bergen Boulevard 2nd Floor, Ridgefield, NJ, 07657. The theme of the first session was Faith and Mental Well-Being.

       History of Black History Month
IDC Luncheon Forum took place at IDC’s office in Newark on Tuesday February 17, 2009 at noon. Dr. Clement Price delivered a speech on “History of Black History Month”.

       Stereotypes about Your Religion
Another Abraham’s Table Luncheon took place at Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, Short Hills, NJ on Tuesday February 10 at 12:00 noon. The theme of this luncheon was “Stereotypes about Your Religion”. Presenters made wonderful speeches and audience contributed to the discussion with questions.

       Ashura Celebration
IDC and the Turkish Cultural Center HUTACA organizedan Ashura Celebration on Sunday February 8, 2009 at 2.00 pm. Speakers made presentations on the significance of the events happened on Ashura Day such as landing of Noah’s Ark and Moses and his people’s crossing the Red Sea.

       Caring for the Elderly
First Abraham’s Table Luncheon in the New Year took place at Caldwell United Methodist Church on Tuesday January 27 at 12:00 noon. The theme of this first luncheon was Caring for the Elderly: From Jewish, Muslim and Christian Perspectives. Some 120 people attended the luncheon.

       Intercultural Trip to Turkey – Dec 28, 2008 - Jan 7, 2009
Most recent IDC intercultural trip to Turkey took place between December 28, 2008 and January 7, 2009. The group had opportunity to visit some schools, see many historical sites, have dinner with local families, etc. The cities that were included on the trip were Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir, Antalya, Konya and Cappadocia.
