ZAFER AKIN, President 

Zafer A. Akin is an experienced litigator practicing law for over the past 17 years, particularly in the areas of sexual harassment, discrimination, civil rights litigation, employment law and other civil litigation. Mr. Akin received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Hofstra University in 1994 after graduating Cum Laude from the City University of New York, Brooklyn Campus in 1991 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration. He is admitted to the bars of the states of New York and New Jersey and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. Mr. Akin represents victims of sexual harassment and employment discrimination in all its forms and against all types of entities. Being a zealous advocate for his clients, Mr. Akin is not afraid to take on the tougher cases. Mr. Akin is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers, he is also a notary public, and has served as an arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York.

PROF. BEKIR TANRIOVER, Vice-President and Secretary

Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Division of Nephrology, Department of Medicine Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, New York, NY. He was the Medical Director at Combined-Kidney-Pancreas Transplantation Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Dallas, TX between 2007 – 2009 

 

PROF. HEON KIM, Board Member

Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies, in East Stroudsburg University since 2011. He has worked as an Assistant Professor at Intellectual Heritage Program at Temple University (2008- 2011) He was an Instructor at the Department of Religion, Temple University (2006 – 2008). He has Academic Specialty on Comparative Religion; Interreligious Dialogue; Sufism and mystical philosophy; Religion and Peace. He speaks Korean (native), English, Chines, Arabic and Turkish. Making Peace In and With the World: The Role of the Gülen Movement in the Task of Eco Justice, “Self and Others” for Religious Ecology, Sin-ang gha In-gan [The Belief and Man], Hyun-dae Sahye ga Islam’e Dunjin Jilmundul are among his publications.

 

PROF. SERVET TATLI, Board Member

Prof. Dr. Servet Tatli is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and a staff radiologist at the Division of Abdominal Imaging and Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Tatli has a degree in medicine from Istanbul University, School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine Hospital. He held fellowships in abdominal imaging and intervention and cardiovascular imaging at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Tatli is married and father of two children.

 

PROF. OSMAN KILIC, Board Member

Professor Osman Kilic received his PhD and MA from the University of New Orleans, his MBA from University of South Alabama and his bachelor’s from Istanbul Technical University. Kilic teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Investments, Emerging Financial Markets and Trading. He has published works in the Journal of Financial Services Research, the Journal of Economics and Finance, Global Finance Journal, International Business and Economics Research, the ISE Review and many other journals. He is currently the director of Alternative Investment Institute at Quinnipiac University. Heis also a board member of Connecticut Hedge Fund Association.
