Peace Islands Institute Center for Media presents a seminar on “Mirror of Race” by Professor Gregory Fried, chair of the Philosophy Department at Suffolk University. Professor Fried will talk about the Mirror of Race (www.mirrorofrace.org) project, an online exhibition of photography and an examination of the meaning of race, both in history and today. He will also give information about their new production Reflections on Race (www.reflectionsonrace.org) documentary which involves interviewing people of different cultures to start a dialogue about how they see race in their own lives and communities. The hope is that by having a conversation and letting people tell their stories, we may all begin to think about how we view others and start to create a different story though this awareness.
