On September 30, 2012, The Grace Church in Newark NJ, opened their doors and hearts to the Peace Islands Institute, NJ.
The Friendship gathering started with Father Bates, welcome speech and the introduction of PII.
Hasan Demirciler, a representative from PII started by extending his thanks to the Fr. Bates and to the members of the church for allowing PII to have the opportunity to organize such an event. He then spoke about PII programs and its mission in NJ,
Turkish-Americans from the area brought in traditional homemade Turkish food for the guest, that everyone enjoyed very much.
We thank Fr. Bates for making this event possible.
