As a primary source of value and tradition in many cultures around the globe, religion has historically played a role in the decisions humans have made regarding the environment. In the academic disciplines of religious studies, religious ethics, the sociology of religion, theology, and in environmentalism increasing attention has been given to the correlation between religious values and environmental preservation in recent decades.
The panel will discuss teachings of the three Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam related to preserving environment.
Please join the discussion at 5:30 pm on Thursday Feb 7 at Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life. Food will be served.
The panel is a joint effort of Peace Islands Institute and Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University.
